Why We Work in Education
In Greater Whitefield’s government schools, the will to learn is abundant—but the support systems are not. ForceGW’s education work bridges this gap with long-term volunteer involvement, partnerships, and infrastructure that makes schooling more meaningful, accessible, and joyful for thousands of children.
Key Areas of Work

Teaching Support
We supplement what teachers can’t always manage alone.
- Volunteer Teaching: Trained volunteers assist in English and Maths classes, ensuring students get more individual attention.
- Spoken English Programs: In Seegehalli, volunteers from Jaguar Land Rover lead spoken English classes that boost both confidence and classroom interaction.
- Digital Learning Aids: Volunteers co-design lesson plans using tools like CLT, bringing structure and energy into classrooms.
- Reducing Load: By taking on daily teaching duties, we free up government teachers to focus on planning, evaluation, and quality instruction.

School Infrastructure
We transform basic classrooms into real learning environments.
- Digital Classrooms: In collaboration with CLT and Meghshala, we’ve introduced digital tools like e-Pathasala to help teachers deliver engaging, visual learning.
- Science Labs & Libraries: Built labs and reading spaces in partnership with Opportunity Foundation Trust, giving students hands-on exposure to science and language.
- Clean Water & Sanitation: Installed drinking water units, toilets, and dustbins to ensure hygiene and dignity in school spaces.
- Playgrounds & Green Spaces: Set up basic playgrounds and planted over 500 saplings to create more welcoming campuses.
- Transport Support: Launched a school bus under a PPP model in Bevinamara, helping children avoid long walks through unsafe roads.

Health, Hygiene & Safety
We bring essential health services into the school compound.
- Medical Camps: General and dental check-ups in partnership with Vydehi Hospital and Matru Siri Foundation serve hundreds of children every year.
- Hygiene Education: Awareness sessions on menstrual health, handwashing, and personal safety (good touch/bad touch) have been held across 27 schools.
- Nutrition & Wellness: With Columbia Asia, we’ve run workshops that teach students about basic self-care, disease prevention, and daily health routines.

Co-Curricular & Creative Learning
We believe in learning that goes beyond textbooks.
- Scrap Beats: Every Saturday, children learn to make music from recycled materials under the guidance of local musician Pranav Sagar—turning waste into creativity.
- Art, Dance, and Summer Camps: From stitching to painting to theatre, our summer break programs give students a chance to explore new skills.
- Teach Maadi Exhibitions: These student-led displays showcase craft, science, and art projects—giving children ownership and public pride in their work.
- Just for Kicks: A football-based leadership program that teaches team spirit, discipline, and self-confidence through weekly training and competitions.
- STEM Exposure: Visits to the Science Express and space workshops with Team Indus expose students to a world of possibilities beyond their curriculum.

Learning Materials & Scholarships
We reduce barriers to staying in school.
- Essential Supplies: We’ve distributed thousands of notebooks, backpacks, stationery kits, uniforms, and over 6,000 sweaters through community donations.
- Solar Lamps: 200 solar-powered lamps were provided to 10th-grade students in areas with frequent power cuts—allowing them to study after dark.
- Girls’ Education Support: Through Avasar Foundation, we fund scholarships for higher education—focusing especially on students from low-income backgrounds.
- Emergency Aid: Individual donations have helped cover urgent medical procedures for schoolchildren who otherwise couldn’t afford treatment.

Teacher Training & Resources
We support the people who make learning possible.
- Lesson Planning Support: Our volunteers collaborate with teachers to co-design engaging lesson plans, especially for foundational subjects.
- Digital Content & AV Tools: We introduce schools to video-based learning platforms like CLT and Meghshala to make concepts easier to grasp.
- Books & Teaching Aids: We’ve distributed dictionaries, encyclopedias, and curriculum-aligned resources for classroom use.
- Salary Support: In cases of acute staff shortage, we’ve facilitated donor-funded salaries for full-time teachers—ensuring continuity for students.

Events & Collaborations
We create platforms that build systems—not silos.
- Shaalegaagi Naavu Neevu: A landmark event co-hosted with the Zilla Panchayat, GoK, and NGOs to foster collaboration in the education ecosystem.
- Career Guidance Workshops: In partnership with Jaguar Land Rover, we held interactive sessions at Kadugodi Junior College, exposing students to STEM and auto-tech careers.
- Maker Lab on Wheels: With Infosys Foundation, we brought hands-on robotics and tech learning directly into schools—sparking curiosity and confidence.
